Somebody is going to have to vacuum, inject dye, recharge the system, and run it for a while for a leak to show up that you can see with the UV light. Without dye, a leak will not show up with the UV light.
Sounds like you got invaded by the mobile mechanic trucks like we got invaded by the mobile food trucks a few years ago.
Being mobile means you can't find him for a redo. He can suck Florida dry and move on somewhere else. Fly-by-nighters.

my understanding is he had a very successful business up in Connecticut and moved down here with his daughter and wife (not sure the situation but i think his daughter is goign to college or something)
when he first got down here he forgot how hard it was starting all over, up there he had more work than he could do but then he got down here and had no word of mouth working for him. so he went a while with not much work but its slowly starting to build up for him.
i believe he claims to be insured and bonded but i'd have to find one of his cards to see if he actually does claim that.
for the most part i am happy with his work
he replaced everything he was asked too
but i guess he should have some some ac tests before replacing the parts based on me telling him what another mechanic said, that would have saved me some money and hassle.
he's coming to where i work when its dark out to finish up the last couple of small things and check for the leak, if he can't find it i am probably going to take it to firestone for their ac check.

Get a $150 cash refund from him if he can't fix the A/C.
If he is legit, he should offer you a refund without you even asking. He was paid for that work. If it does not work, he should not be paid for it. Someone with integrity would not keep the money.
Either that or he can reimburse you all the money you're probably going to have to spend at Firestone.

now i have to have him look at the rotors and breaks
i just drove it up to the gas station so i was not rushed tonight for work
didn't notice anything (probably cause i was messing with the new radio trying to figure out how it worked, actually trying to figure out how to change the station).
but as i was getting home and pulling into the driveway i barley heard but felt knocking so to speak when i put on the breaks.
so i turned off the radio and went to the end of the street and there is a knocking sound when the breaks are applied.
i am not sure if something is not on tight enough or what but i know it was not there before hand because my vehicle has not had a radio that worked for many months now and then for the last two the windows didn't roll down either so i would have heard it had it been present before.
with that said could it be a break in on the new rotors and pads?
i've only had one vehicle where the rotors was repaired and that was long ago (i miss that mechanic, he was good and cheap, slow due to him not rushing anything but he never let me down on a repair, in fact most repairs i got done for the price i would pay for the part big ones slightly more)
may he rest in peace, well ok i am not sure he's gone but he was old 15 years ago so if not he'd have to be in his 80's now. i should try to look him up if he's in good enough condition and such i might be able to get him to do stuff and/or walk me through it.

Why do I get the sense of this mechanic doing the old "Nickel and Dime" game. I get a real bad taste in my mouth when I read this thread. Something tells me this guys locked himself into your Jeep and he'll be working on it for the next 12 months if you get where I'm coming from. I think I'd stop him now before you start getting stuff that you don't need or he damages stuff that was good to go.

It's much worse than that.
The poor OP paid this scam artist good money to get his Jeep fixed. I'm sure everyone has read all his comments by now. This guy probably fled Connecticut because the cops were closing in on him.
It now appears that NOTHING was fixed properly on his Jeep but maybe the windows. They apparently go up and down. For now.
Bad brakes and bad A/C now. Non-working back up camera. Etc. Etc.
No, it's not my money but I hate to see anyone taken advantage of like this. Money is too hard to come by.
