Lots of tubing, an intercooler and lots of computer tuning. Run, not walk away from this deal.

That would be a TON of work and cost a pretty penny to get up and running.

Plus I would never trust a 140 dollar ebay turbo. It will probably blow up and puke shrapnel into your engine the first time you rev it.

No. Keep far away from ebay turbo kits. They have no pics, and that price is stupid low.

A good turbo kit will cost anywhere from 2-5k. That will give you a manifold, tubing, couplers, BOV, oil feed/return line, turbo, intercooler, injectors, and tuning.

I would love to see a mild boost setup around 8psi pushed through a 4.0.

get a tractor turbo if your on a budget. theyre the same thing a turbo is a turbo just ones from a "performance" place are going to charge more because they can sell more

Why do you need more power? Is it just to say "I have 300 hp (or whatever figure)" or is it because you have legitimate need, for towing or whatever? I'm just curiuos; if it's because you just want more power that's cool. I would start where you are at with intake, exhaust and TB. You may just want to save your pennies and build (or have built) a stroker motor. Those put down some serious power.

That's not even a turbo kit. That's a cheap Chinese turbo (nothing against the Chinese, but they do make some cheap knockoff stuff, which this is) with an air filter and some oil line. It's missing like 85% of the 'kit' part.

Not to mention all the computer tuning. Putting a turbo on a vehicle is not as simple as it sounds unless you have deep pockets and just take it somewhere and say 'put a turbo on it'.

Remember the old adage, "Cheap, Fast, Reliable. Pick two"? Well, in this case they double-tapped the 'cheap' button.

I agree with firstime, the best way to get power from the 4.0 is to stroke it. Although I've noticed cranks are getting a bit expensive now! Guess the days of $80 ebay crankshafts are gone and forgotten

depending on your fab skills you can do it for a reasonable price but you need to do alot of research, im doing that rightnow because i want a turbo just cuz i have one sitting in the garage so why not put it on lol
you need a icu, and new injectors ect. the best two threads i found were on pirate 4x4.

gonna hi jack you for a minute,
anyone know what vehicles you can pull injectors off of to put in a 4.0 to be an upgrade? (hi jack off)
