You're doing it right man, but on the last oil change use a good filter, i think thats all anyone is saying.
Does it matter what oil you run? does going to synthetic to conventional back synthetic affect anything.

No, some old timers will tell you it does but they don't know anything about modern oils obviously.

I had my step dad argue with me for 45 minutes about it until I showed him bobistheoilguy.com articles stating he was wrong. Even then he wouldnt believe it.

Short answer; Science says it doesnt, Old timers say it does, you decide what you want to believe.

the Filter media is poor quality but the biggest concern is the overflow valve blows around 2500miles i believe it was. In other words it stops filtering after about 2500 miles.

3) Last Fill with my Synpower Valvoline and tough guard filter

A question to everyone is there a problem that i am switching between synthetic back to conventional to clean my engine out they are both 10w-30?
Use some Marvel Mystery Oil in with your oil, or some Dexron III. Use one quart for your first two changes.

And never, evereverever put Quaker State oil in any vehicle you care about.

Here ya go: http://www.go.jeep-xj.info/HowtoRearMain.htm

Just did mine, not too bad. Worst part was getting the front axle to hang low enough to get pan out.
BIG TIP: drain the oil the night before so when you take the pan off oil is not dripping on your face. Good luck.
Also when you put the pan back on start all of your bolts before tightening any of them. Don't over tighten them either.

Dirtiest oil this side of Rotella. Heck, Rotella might even be better.

Quaker State is a paraffin based oil. It'll gunk you up in a big way.
