Talking I met the Zen Master of All Jeeps!

So My XJ motor number 2 spun a rod bearing...so I think, thanks to much input from you guys. And I somehow ended up with a lifted 2002 Wrangler Sport with the 4.0 and the TUPY head. Needed a trans. and some frame welds. So my bro in law brought me to the guy he bought it from for me and holy S$%T this guy is literally this entire forum of knowledge all in his head. WOW. He had about six lifted jeeps spread about the yard and monster garage in various states. In the shop he is restoring a Grand Wagoneer in the most amazing fashion. He has the interior gutted but he did most of the exterior work already and it is incredible, I was like I have not seen one like this since well never...a movie perhaps. He is installing a manual trans in my new Jeep...I requested the ax15....and cutting and rewelding any bad spots on the frame rails all for 1 grand. I am getting a deal cause my bro in law is renting out half his shop starting monday. Of all the things I learned I could barely say a word to him cause I would feel stupid. Anyway if you have a Jeep and you are in Jersey and want it redone. Pete is the man. Wow. I should have taken pics. My xj is up in the air now that I know Pete. But my Wrangler Sport is gonna be one hell of a beast. Just wanted you guys to know about the Jeep Buddha in jersey. hahhah

Thanks man! It has been such a tough road. This guy Pete is amazing. He knows everything about every jeep ever. he had like 7 transmissions lying on the floor in the corner. His finished product is nothing short of incredible. He paints, does all engine work, does all trans work, does all lifts, jacks up jeeps....he knows all engines and all transmissions from all years...and he repairs frames with rust the correct way...also does full undercoats on jeeps..he is like some kind of ancient Jeep Shadow Ninja....I felt like I walked into this forum virtually. It was amazing.

Well, don't leave us in suspense. What is the name of his shop and where is it located? Always looking for someone to help with 20+ year metal.

I actually thought that's who this post was about! Lots of really great wrenchers out there, but the masters... Well those are hard to find. Cruiser54 here is a master, and it seems like DCWinterXJ has managed to find one locally, which is simply amazing to have nearby!

My bad yes I don't know the name of his shop haha. I will get the information from my brother in law. I am not sure if he just does work through word of mouth or buys, rebuilds, and flips them. He doesn't even have a computer in his shop.
I was like if I didn't have a computer and all my research I would know nothing. But he knows everything. My brother law is renting 1/3 of the shop from Pete and he will be doing wraps, Window tint, and Hydro Dipping. Mostly cosmetic stuff. Pete is the mechanic who is a straight shooter with knowledge that certainly reminded me of cruiser54! I think they are planning a barbecue grand opening thing in a couple of weeks. I am pretty sure any of you locals are welcome. He is located in Wall, NJ.
Pretty much closer to Belmar and right on Belmar Blvd. Just gimme some time and I will get all the info. Right now my bro in law is moving in there so they are re-arranging the whole shop and moving all kinds of stuff all over so it is crazy. My bro in law has like 12 plus custom cars in various stages he wants to sell also...so that whole shop is gonna be insane! Okay as soon as I know you will!

Well apparently my bro in law is an uptight douchebag and seems to think everyone has to go through him. Also the first barbecue meet is friends and fam and the major opening is in August. Anyway if you are knowledgeable about your ride, know what you want....ie; a lift, rust treatment, engine work, suspension work, upholstery...send me a private message. Also you would be better off if you lived in Central Jersey. I am not letting my bro in law try and snake a finders fee or some bs. I am a little more than pissed dealing with him right now

I've got a brother-in-law like that too!

I'm up in NE NJ. The guy who has been taking care of all of my cars for the last 30 years seems to want to do as little as possible to my Jeep. He feels it is a beater car and not worth putting $ into. He knows it is in good shape with no accidents or major rust but it does have traces of antifreeze in the oil and since he doesn't see anything worn, he's reluctant to pull the head to see if it is cracked inside. Really nice guy but I think I need someone who can help me keep it running well for another 20 years.

My dad, and the house I was born in, is just about 1/4 mile south of the Ho-Ho-Kus town line! Amazing small world ain't it? He retired and moved to Florida in 2003. My parents divorced in 1948 when I was 3 years old and I hadn't made contact with him until 1975 when I found his address and sent him a wedding announcement. I think it's Ridgewood.

Well things went sideways quite a bit last Saturday. So they were prepping the shop for my bro in law and moving stuff. And he bought them beer and liquor. Then we left. I thought at my house it would be cool to go back and drink and help out. Big F'n mistake! They hired a chic who is pretty attractive to work there and apparently I got too wasted and said some inappropriate things. I didnt think they were at the time, but I forgot the world is raising snowflakes now. I mean yeah I guess it was not good but it was supposed to be funny. Long story short, she took a selfie on her phone and i was lookin at it and said Wow your ***** look way bigger in the picture! And then I stared at her *****, and the phone ***** and then her *****. So I thought it was funny and she didn't act weird...or did. Dunno I was drunk. hah. However she drank almost a whole pint of Jameson...and the jeepmaster was drinking some kind of whiskey. Well no one said anything to me that day....but holy crap the whole family unit came down on me the next day...I was like what happened??? I didn't do anything bad? I was confounded. So I am now banned from the shop forever and the jeepmaster thinks I am an ahole...but I know he is a perv(different story). And I gave him a grand to get my big yellow TJ trans done and now he has my money and I am just sitting on 2 dead jeeps. My xj spun a rod bearing for sure. I dont have a dime left to put into these vehicles now. And I gotta wait for when they decide to do the TJ. In retrospect dont get drunk with people you just met. My friends wouldn't blink an eye...even all my lady friends if I said that...but yeah so now I am an alcoholic perv with no jeep connections. Great. just great. But her ***** did look bigger on the phone.

It is a VERY small world ! I graduated from a high school in Oradell NJ which is 5 miles from Hohokus. As I'm writing this I am 2700 miles away in central Mexico.
