I remember a thread that said the part of the service manual that pertains to the ignition was wrong. I believe the number 1 plug position shown on the dizzy was incorrect.

Are you sure the plug wires are in the right order?

Nice! Glad to hear you got it straightened out! Also, a big thanks for posting back the ultimate resolution rather than just dropping off the face of the planet sort of thing - it's a big help to other people who run into similar issues to have the resolution available and confirmed.

aaaand I’m broke down again haha took it to a shop and found out that the stock valve keepers don’t fit my comp cam cam springs and the ones that come with the kit are toooo small. I’ll be giving their tech line a call tomorrow
