I think I've solved my death wobble
After having many people look at my 88 xj and many parts replaced I think I've finally found the illusive problem which has cause my death wobble. I have a bad track bar mount. I'm looking on rustys now and I'll probably buy there HD mount to solve the problem. When I go to order it, it asks for the tie rod end size on the track bar 11/16 or 22mm I have no clue what size I need. It's just a factory track bar any thoughts???

Before I even posted this I called rustys and they didn't really help they told me to measure it my self and that was. So if someone knows the size off hand that would be great or if you could tell me
how to properly measure so I can order the correct track bar mount.

my 88 xj is @ stock height right now, but i plan on a 3.5" frankenlift on soon, but need to find some donor s10 packs before i do. i have a bad t-bar (popping & clanking @ the driver's frame rail mount, & rust trails). when i got the alignment done after i bought it, the mechanic said that he wouldn't trust it, as the rust is a clear indication of a failing bolt, making it unsafe. (i knew something was wrong when i got dw on a stock setup.)
the stock design is often cited to fail due to it's tre-style mounting on the poorly welded mount. as it relies on 1 point of contact/connection on the bolt/mount, it tends to loosen up & wallow out the mounting hole to an egg-shape. the double-shear tb is definitely the way to go, as it limits axle travel to up/down, not allowing for the limited pinching angles that the tre-style ends are famous for. the result is a tighter steering system (response, feel, etc.)
after doing some research, i found almost all bad reviews re: rusty's tb kit. i called IRO re: their double shear kit & found that although their products get great reviews, their tb setups were lift specific, & wouldn't work on my stock ride. they were really friendly & even apologized for not being able to help me.
i decided to save up the extra $ & ordered the KOR t-bar conversion kit. i went for this setup is because of the custom-built double-shear tb that adjusts from 0" (stock height) all the way to 8" of lift that's accompanied by a beefy back-braced mount that eliminates any left/right bending movement of the frame rail. it should be showing up tomorrow, and i'll hopefully get it installed by the time i have to leave for work. i'll let you know how it went, including pics if i can......

First off I said that I don't know exactly what to measure (the whole reason for posting this). for someone making comments like you are really needs to learn to read more throughly. Smokerkenny thanks for the detailed post I'll try looking around for another brand my only problem is that I don't need a new track bar just the mount.
