Default I think my rod bearings are gone.

It's not knocking yet but if you are under it while its running it souds like a type writer. my oil pressure gauge hasn't worked since i had it . i changed the sending unit still nothing. when i start it it goes up right above the line barley. check gauge light is on. I guess what im getting at is do you guy's think i could get by with new bearings oil pump and pick up.

is it a higher pitch sound? rod knocks are a louder deep sound. Typewriters are a higher tone. More like a valve train noise.

Correct. OP, what brand of oil filter are you currently using on that Jeep of yours?

I'll double check what's on there now. For oil I'm running Rotella 15w40 it's used in trucks usually. It has a high zinc level to it which really seems to help the solid lifters stay nice and free.

Same oil as I use. Check that filter.

Try fitting up a real oil pressure gauge and see what it reads

it's def on the bottom end top is quiet it's not knocking though just sounds like they are loose but it's never had any work done that i know of.

previous owner im guessing never changed the oil like a *** but it has 202k miles now runs good and strong still. im in the middle of trying to move but now im stuck cause im not working now and no funds to put into it . i payed a thousand for it 98 sport by the way. i dunno what im going to do guess it holds together till i can get a beater and put in a shop thanks for the input guys
