If they did "steal" 500 or more.. pretty sure 500 is deadline for a felony..

Yeah man. Please don't let this slide. I really hope you speak up. I stopped going to 4WP as well b/c I felt I got duked outa money. I snapped the rear lower shock bolt. They wanted 120 to weld a new one on. That's freaking retarded.

I'll PM you my phone number. Have your wife call me when the axle gets there. I'll be more than happy to inspect and document everything. I'm not buying their story.....not even a tiny little bit.

Man I cant tell you how much that sucks, and how angry that makes me!!!!!!!!!!!

I dont know if you are active duty or reserve, each time I deployed with the reserves we had a family readiness group that worked with soldiers families to help them through issues when we were gone. We had a guys wife get screwed by a garage with car stuff also. The FRG had brothers, sisters, fathers, uncles, friends and a whole crap load of other people jump all over the garage until the issue was settled

Add that to FrankZ's knowledge and I am sure you can get this fixed

If you are from an active duty base go through your chain of command and get your active side FRG involved, They have a **** load of resources at your disposal.

No one ever tolorates a soldiers wife getting screwed while the troops are over seas!!!!

My respect for you just went through the roof.

Good to see how many people are truly willing to help someone in need. I wish I was closer to CO, I find joy in calling scum companies out.

I hope everything works out

I'm in Colorado Springs so I'm not in a position to get it myself.

I just hope the OP takes me up on my offer.

Dispicable !!!
Here in Nevada we have a similar law as post #7 states and is backed up by the state AG office (Consumer Affairs Div I believe), someone might just give the Colorado AG a call.

Take FrankZ's offer. If I were there I'd be knocking on thier door, popping the cover and seeing just what is in there, taking pictures.

My guess.... Likes someone above said they couldn't get the C-clip off so they just replaces the old no-slip with new parts hence the $500. That is about what a Powertrax no-slip goes for. And are they are sitting on that fancy Detriot. Once the cover is on you can't tell the difference driving it.

Would really like to know the outcome.

The reason I was so pissed was because my wife was told (she took notes when she was on the phone with 4WP) that the differential housing needed to be replaced. That made me think that they sold her a $500 carrier, not an entire axle housing. The axle and labor to put it in was $500, not just the part. I talked to Mike, and have gotten a couple emails from him in the last 12 hours, and I know that he is an honest man. He took some pics of the axle today and sent them to me, and is delivering it next week. In the pictures it looks like the carrier was moving around, but pictures can be deceiving. FrankZ, thank you so much for all the help you have offered. I will talk to my wife, and see if there is a time when you could come and look at the axle. Thank you, everyone, for your support in all this, and thank you for everyone else serving!

If I read right, this is in Colorado. Wish I was close enough to help out, as I'd be happy to. Hate stuff like this.

Thanks much to you guys for your service, and I sure hope you get this one all straightened out to your satisfaction. And get yourselves home safely.

Merry Christmas to you.

The thing I dont understand is if a carrier was moving back and forth would you hear it when driving the xj, or even skipping the teeth on the ring? Dont understand the need for a whole new housing. Here in columbus ohio a 10tv news went to a tire place with brand new brakes and was con-d into new brakes, while on candid cam. they told them they need new brakes or they could die. ohh it was on local news. my sister was screwed out of 1100 dollars on water pump for her car. one time. I can get a dana 60 front for about 500 wth
