ok I not ragging on anyone here. and it sounds like she was scammed but most companies need to charge for services. Its called a service for a reason. so over charging and take advantage of people with is wrong.
I was a 24 hour plumber for years and had enough of it. If someone called me out to fix something I would charge a service charge from around 88 125 for a simply fix. Se out of that I would make about 20 to 35 bucks. everything else would go to the truck, tools, and insurance
Company cost more to run then you may think. so a shop charging 120 bucks to weld a shock bracket on is crazy. well its not because its a service.

Seth,
You are correct and hopefully the OP or his wife will get in touch with me and perhaps we can sort this out.
I realize you work for 4wp now and have a stake in the outcome of this issue.
No need to leave, ya know full well that I want to you stick around. You're a good person and an asset here.

Something I read a few pages ago disturbs me... The OP said they just happened to have an axle in their shop that they swapped out for his "damaged" one... Now he has to wait to have "his" returned to him? How will he know that the axle they give him is really his? Maybe they are just sending him a damaged one that they had laying around... Sounds fishy...

I was calling around to see how much a local shop would replace my oil pan, oil pump and rear main seal because I wasn't sure if I'd have time to do the work myself, plus I'm nowhere near my house so I don't have any tools. I played ignorant and this one shop told me it would be a minimum of $1325. The oil pan was apparently almost $400, the oil pump $150 and the two gaskets needed were like $100. The rest was labor. They told me the labor was high because it was an 8 hour job. I didn't bother asking where they were getting their parts from for those prices. *sigh*
