Every tune up it should be done for sure. That's 30,000 miles for us.

Ok.

So the new IAC motor is working fine.
Still had some serious idling issues and I pulled the plugs.

Turned out the SP were heavily fouled and apparently a Champion version no longer made.

We bought some simple AZ specials to get by for now and the engine seriously picked up, but still idled poorly.

A good look into the engine after a first class engine cleaning found the MAF sensor vacuum line had been mouse food at one point. So I plugged that issue and then found that the line that comes up from the axle is cut.
The rubber tube attached was severed from somewhere but I cant figure out from where.

The metal tube comes up from the driver's side and looks similar to a brake line.

The rubber side is deteriorating but was severed at one point and stretched out to the passenger side of the engine.

Whoever told you champion plugs for an xj are no longer made should not work at a parts store. I dont know the exact part number but I bought a set a month ago at autozone.

That's why me and Flintstone came up with this:

No no no...
That the specific MODEL spark plug is no longer made.
Not the specific brand.

Apparently it was suppose to be some kind of HP spark plug replacement.

Anyway, it is not the MAP sensor line.

The line is a metal line that comes up from the front axle area.
The metal line is behind the manifold on the driver's side. It has attached to it via a clamp a long rubber vacuum line. That line is long enough to travel to the other side of the engine block on the passenger's side.

I do not know what it attaches to. There are no broken "T"s, no open vacuum port, nada.

Easy solution. Use NGKs.
