How is your fuel pressure?
Have you changed any sensors/done any work lately?
Does it seem to be running rich?
Are your injectors leaking?
Any holes in vaccum hoses?
Is your CEL on?
Just a few things to check...

Im not positive, but I think a bad MAP sensor or o2 sensor could cause idle lope too.
I would also clean your TB/IAC just for the hell of it, to see if it helps.
Pull a plug and see what it looks like if you havent changed them since youve got it. They should have a brown/grayish tan color.
You have a 2001, wasnt that the year with the 0331 heads? I would check for oil in the coolant/coolant in the oil.
Just throwing ideas out there, If I think of anything else I will post it.

MAP: Manifold Absolute Pressure. On my 89 it is located on the firewall, drivers side. With a vaccum line running from it to the TB.
Im assuming you know what an Oxygen Sensor is.
TB: Throttle Body
IAC: Idle Air Control, located on the Throttle Body
Im assuming you know what a spark plug is
0331 heads are known to crack, they where used somewhere around 2000, but im not sure what year exactly.
Im assuming you can take out the dipstick and check the oil for water droplets, same with checking the coolant.

REmove your IAC and see if it is gummed up or if it has a weak return spring. When the A/C is on the IAC is stepped up 15 points to raise the idle for the load, if this only happens when warm and a/c is off then you have a vacuum leak at the throttle body or a defective/weak IAC.

removing your iac and cleaning it is free!
all you have to do is unclip the wiring harness, remove 2 torx screws, and take out the iac.
Clean the iac, maybe with a toothbrush and some sensor safe spray cleaner.
Put your Iac back in, and see if it helped..

does it only happen when you have your defrost/AC on?
it is normal and it caught my attention the first time it happened. i only mention this because it throbs at the exact RPM you described.
