Here is one of the reasons I drive my xj,and why I trust it to get to and from. I replaced the fuel pump just before I went hunting in Wyoming a few years back, about the fifth day It started running like crap,I spent the afternoon trying to fix it. Make a long story short,I had to head home, the only way it would run was at full throttle,i drove across Wyoming, utah,Nevada, and the northern ca mountains to get home,I was going 75-85 with the rear main seal leaking so bad it looked like it had blowen up,I was not worried about the engine as I had another in the garage,as I drove into the drive way it stopped and would not start, after getting some sleep I found the little rubber hose off the pump to the tank outlet had come loose,it held on for over 1,200 miles and fell off completly as I drove in the drive way, and the motor is still being used. it has never left me stranded.
Weather luck or not,it is very dependable and easy to work on.

You have to remove the brake caliper to remove the rotor. There are two bolts that hold the caliper on the bracket. It is either a hex or a double hex head, 13 or 15mm.

It is called a nut retainer,it is held on by a cotter pin, remove the pin,the retainer will fall off, then you can pull the nut off with a large socket,I do not know the size off the top of my head.the bearing and rotor will come off after you remove the caliper and brake pads. It would be good time to check, bearings, brake pads on both sides, i assume that is why you are removing it.

A nut?! the rotor should slide off after you remove the caliper. Sometimes you have to persued it with a hammer.

Yea I just watched a YouTube vid of someone changing Cherokee brake pads/rotors, I see the nut retainer just slides off after you yank out the cotter pin.

Well I think I've discovered something else wrong without ever leaving my computer desk, guy in vid spun his rotor and it turned easily and rapidly several revolutions , mine would spin only when pressure was applied, then stop immediately.

I'm scared to drive it now

there are two reason it would not spin easily,1,the bearings were set to tight when they were installed,2the caliper is not backing off enough to allow pads to clear rotor, but being able to spin your rotor and have it spin several times is not good either, the bearings when they are set right will not allow it to spin like that, maybe the person in the video thinks that is what is good, they generally set by what the mechanic feels is good, but 12lbs is the actual number when setting them.
Have you drove it at all?

Yea, it's just the pads hitting the rotors, it's all good cause I'm having them turned next weekend along with new pads

Ah Moab ... my personal Mecca. Would LOVE to go, just can't figure how to get the XJ there. I doubt the Durango would hold up towing it that far.
The Panzer's ready, though!
