Hey, the mods can tell you that I'm death on people putting threads in the wrong place. I probably report one almost every time I log on.

But I think this is exactly the right place for this. It's not a marketplace, it's a service. Good stuff, and thank you Ralph.

That said, I really appreciate Saudade looking out for the well-being of the forum. I wish every member had that attitude. I didn't see any disrespect.

@Ralph77 Love the quick turnaround here! I do not need the foam. The vinyl on the seat cushion is ripped so I need a new seat cover for the bottom cushion. If there is a way to source just that I am in. Haven't been able to find it anywhere. It's really the only major flaw on the interior and I hate seeing the ripped seat when I get into the car!

Not a problem.
Did you Google the part number I think it is like I told you to do?

Well I went back and re-read your first reply and that part number is correct and is the bottom foam and cover. $165 isn't cheap for that but if that's the only way to go I'll do it. If you can find something let me know but I'll keep you posted on my search and if I go this route. Truly appreciate the help my friend.

Yeah screw it. I've been wrenching on this car quite a bit since I got it so may have to treat myself! I thought this would be a $35 part but I guess not and you are right in that trying to find one that isn't stained and gross will be extremely difficult. Although, I can get a real nice full seat for $300 and then just sell mine...Easier to install too.

No it is not cheap. And there will be shipping on top of that.
Do you have a local Jeep Dealership?
Check with them if you do first. See what they would want for it.
Here is the thing like I said before.
Shipping a whole seat will be expensive. Betting at least $50 for a usable seat with shipping on top of that.
If somebody will just sell you the cover they will probably want the same price as for the whole seat.
They are making the seat rather unsellable if they do that. And then shipping on top of that.
And that is if I come across one and they will separate it.
Also the foam is hog ringed to the seat cover. Not that you can't hog ring a new cover to your existing foam but.........
My point to all this is while a new seat bottom from an online Mopar retailer is expensive by the time the dust settles
betting you would end up paying at least half that amount for a used one.

I see you pretty much came to the same conclusion on your own that I just typed in my previous post. LOL.
Let me know if you buy a new one.

Another thought is any chance the seat can be repaired?
Professionally I mean.
Any car upholstery or even just a upholstery place in your area?
I mean the kind that would do a sofa for instance.
I don't know if a place that reupholsters sofas would do something like that.
But it is not entirely out of their wheelhouse.

Another thought...
If you get a new cover for one seat, how much difference in color do you think there will be from one seat to the other. Hopefully the fade from the other seat isn't too drastic and it is mostly the same color as a new cover. You could also check out some local upholstery shops. Maybe they can make you a pair of covers for cheaper than you imagine. They may not be OEM color and fabric type, but good enough that they match together, and match the rest of the interior color...

Default Read window air deflector

Hey Ralph, you commented on my other post. I’m looking for the rear air deflector for my Wagoneer limited. It had one because there were grommets in the hatch for one but who knows what’s happened to it. Here’s a pic of the deflector and one of my Jeep. Thanks for any help!

Just my $.02 I have owned at least one Cherokee XJ for the last 17 years(currently own 4). I have done a lot of parts buying and hunting. I even have a few extra parts stored in the garage. Many parts are not made any more. Donor vehicles are becoming scarce in JY's for 2 reasons; The JY's only keep them for so long and then they crush them and jeep cherokees were among the models in the cash for clunkers program and a lot were eliminated. If you are on one of the jeep forums and someone mentions that this part or that part is either not made or hard to fin, take it to heart. If you go to the JY, do not hesitate to pick up something for your jeep that you may not currently need. You made need it later or can sell or trade it later. I was at the JY once and was going to remove something form the driver door but did not have the right tools. I came back 2 days later and the whole door was gone. There some parts that are always gone off donor vehicles.

I could tell you were a good guy just from the help you gave me with my exhaust.

Just some FYI for those "adventurous" types. I had the same well documented rip on my drivers seat. Couldn't find any suitable, cheap replacement so I pulled the bottom out, and separated the ripped vinyl side pieces from the rest and use them as a template to make some new ones out of a piece of new vinyl. Sewed it all up and re-stalled. Not perfect by any means, but unless you were looking for it you wouldn't know. As to the hog rings..if you do remove the cover for repairing/cleaning...ditch them. Small zip ties are the solution. You can install them loose in the same locations of the rings to get the cover in the correct position and then tighten them all at once.

Damn why didn't I think of that? LOL.
I bought a hog ring tool cause I need to replace the foam in a heated seat for my Jeep.
