I posted this in the Craigslist thread but since guys are looking for these from time to time decided to post it here too:

IMO this is not a bad deal. And there is a make offer button so.....
One reason it that it comes with everything.

https://www.ebay.com/itm/97-01-Jeep-...Condition=3000

Best I can tell is that it might be out of a '99. I tried Googling the part number on the harness.
Definitely not out of an '00 or '01. You can tell by the one wire lighted visors.

But if it is out of a '99 and is Agate then this is what you want if you have a '00 or '01 with an Agate interior.
And of course a '99. LOL.
Just have to repin one connector. And you will use the visors that are part of the sale.

'97 and '98 not sure how this how plug and play it would be.

Probably be best to contact them to see if you can find out exactly what year it is out of.

Default Rear Drive draft search

Ralph, thanks for doing this. About a year ago you PM'd me on some black and red trim strips that I couldn't find for my '96 XJ.

I have been searching without much luck for a rear drive shaft. A junkyard found one for me but it was about $450. I was hoping I could find one used versus new. Anyway, if you have time, here are my specs:
96 Cherokee Sport, 4 door
4.0L
5 Speed Manual
2" lift
Chrysler 8.25 rear end.
I think that's all that is required.

Obviously the 5 speed manual makes this harder to find.
Best,
Furrydogs

I remember that.
Did you buy that?

Noted. Keep my eye out.

I got curious about the part numbers and see something I that I don't really know what to make of it.
Oh and something that I am surprised about.

This is out of my '94 to '96 parts catalog.
See how each year has a different part number?
I find that hard to believe that it is a different part.
But it makes me wonder.

And am surprised that the 44 and 8.25 take the same driveshaft.

Wrecking yards used to use parts interchange books published by Hollander. Thier books have to be computerized by now. If that info is accessable it sure would make finding your drive shaft a lot easier.

I'm looking for a transmission inspection plate cover. Just the top piece.

They're non existent online so this would be a purely junkyard find I would imagine.

Let me know if you find one. Thanks for being awesome 😎

This is a 98 jeep cherokee xj aw4

So you know if looking in the boneyard.
The part number appears to be the same for both pieces from '94 to '01.
In my '91 to '93 parts catalog it appears the bigger one is the same part number but the smaller one is a different part number.
So I am not sure what is up with that.
Here is the parts diagram for the '98. For the bolts which I am guessing you also need.

They list the specs, pretty sure it is #'s 13 and 14 you care about, and guessing you could use stuff from the hardware store.
But not sure.

Keep my eye out but you might be on your own with that one.
I don't think I ever saw that before for sale.
My guess is that it comes out with the heater box so why I have never seen one for sale separate.
I can't even find a part number on that.

Hey again Ralph, looks like the part number is 5003393aa which was superceded by 5003393ab. Seems suppliers in the US have it, but charge $80 for shipping lol. I may attempt to fix the one I have first and see how it goes. Best I can get this cable for is about $86 CAD from ebay.

Cut the connectors, buy a brake cable solder them on, good to go. Probs $5 lol

That's NUTS !!! ( Insert rant here ) it's a piece of stamped sheet metal in low demand that probably cost a buck thirty-five in the package to make.

I'll check the wrecking yard for you.

Thanks ijeeep! There's so little xj's in junkyards here, so I have no choice to pay stupid prices for some of these things

Never occurred to me to look at the page in the parts catalog where the heater control was.
I was looking at the page with the exploded view of the heater box where the blend door is.
I found it in the catalog now.
Guessing you were talking about this place:

https://www.ebay.ca/itm/CHRYSLER-TEM...kAAOSwne1f0xe7

If you figure out a good way to fix it might not be a bad idea to do a write up.
Maybe help the next guy with this problem.

ijeep is right. That is crazy money for what that is. I always the prices on used ones on Ebay were excessive too.
