New to owning a Cherokee and searching parts sources. I've got a 1988 Woody XJ Wagoneer Limited with the tan interior in pretty good shape but I need two items I can tell just while driving it home.
#1 - Driver's seat belt complete. PO got out, slammed the door and discovered his lap buckle hanging outside the door. But retractor had already locked the slack. No way of getting driver's door open short of cutting the seat belt webbing. And he had to hack it in a couple of places before figuring out where to release the tension. So that's totally toast. But I'll have to find a tan one. I've got the attach points and bolts.
#2 - Sun visor roof clip pn 8955007243. Any color will work as I'll paint it to match but OEM tan would make things simple.
I'll bookmark this so I can check on your adventures from time to time.
Thanks for being a good scout for us Cherokees.

I believe that the part number for the sun visor clip is 55015215.
https://www.factorychryslerparts.com.../55015215.html
In tan that is.
It appears that part might work from XJ's from '85 to '90 but not sure.
Might come across one on Ebay.
Will PM you a link if I do.
And if I see part outs on Craigslist from those years I can PM you. Regardless of the color.
But it is not like I am going to find somebody selling that specific part on Craigslist.
Now the seat belt might be a little tougher.
The parts catalogs get a bit confusing when it comes to this.
Older XJ's interiors came in more colors. Not like my '00 where there is just 2. Camel and Agate.
It almost looks like you need one specifically from a '88.
But I am not sure.
But here is the thing. The one parts catalog I don't have is an '87. I don't know why. LOL.
There is a guy here who has done pretty much a complete restore of an '87.
I almost positive he did something with his seat belts too.
https://www.cherokeeforum.com/f46/bu...imited-151300/
So I suggest you read his thead.
So if I come across any '87 or '88 part outs on Craigslist will PM you a link.

The visor clips in the 90 look the same as the gray ones in my 95 and the ones in the 95 I'm fixing to scrap. WileECoyoteSr if you want them they're yours.

See with the color changes from year to year means a different part number.
So while the clip might be the same you can't tell from the part number cause of the color change.
Anyway thinking these are what you have and not the same as the link I posted for it.

But..... LOL.
This is why I ask for pictures.
He posted all those pictures, making me scroll more in the thread now, but failed to post one of the part he actually needs. MLOL.

Ralph - my 88 Wagoneer visor clip has the part number 8955007243 embossed on the back. Also a second number MM8423.
I appreciate your efforts. I'm checking the leads you post as they come in.

Ralph77 - I found the single seat belt in tan I need on ebay at https://www.ebay.com/itm/Tan-Retract...t/274350676751. It's funny how naked a person feels not wearing a seatbelt after these decades of mandated compliance. Don't get me wrong. Worn correctly they are life saving. And it becomes an even bigger point in a 1988 sans air bags.
And iJeep offered to send me the visor clips from his scrap parts car to see if they'd fit. His seems to be in the date range.
So you can delete my request, but I deeply appreciate your suggestions.

Hello can someone please tell me if a 242 transfer case skid plate is different than a 231. There is a 231 one at the junkyard and would like to know if it clears my 242 thank you.

Hi Ralph!
Amazing job, thanks for doing this. I am looking for a few things:
- grey factory tweeters for 97-01 models
-the plug in for the thermostat that shows the temperature on the overhead consoles for 97-01
- bezel for the 4x4 shifter with the 242 transfer case.
cheers!
