Ignition switch problems
So just got this 88 jeep cherokee an it starts if i pop the hood an use a screwdriver but the ignition switch wont start the car gets power but whenever you turn the key to the on position it just hums doesn't even try turning over an when you turn the key all the way off it make a clunking nose plz help i need to get this fixed asap

When you go to start and hear the hum, do your instrument panel lights dim or not?
