Exclamation Intermediate steering shaft is too short-- HELP!

Holy crap frustration to no end... I ordered this part ( http://www.quadratec.com/products/56113_04.htm ) and it says that it'll fit my 93 jeep cherokee but it is about half an inch too short and I can't get it to bolt down correctly... not the sort of thing I want to half ***. Someone please please please tell me I am missing something otherwise I think I'll send this back and grab one out of the junk yard. Someone on another forum suggested that it might be telescopic but I can't see anyway to extend it. Maybe one of you knowledgeable gentlemen will know the hidden secret.

the picture you posted looks like it is telescopic so it should slide in and out
could be the paint keeping it from moving

try to compress it first

Yea it should telescope, and the paint is not allowing it. It looks like the right one

It's a very stiff stick, can't get to compress or extend at all. Any advice? I don't want to try anything to rash and damage the part I'm trying to replace.

Does anyone know a surefire way to extend this intermediate steering shaft? No amount of pulling, compressing and even hammering can get it to really budge. I'm trying to get this put in sometime tonight so I can go home and see my mom. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Im gonna say........NO!!!

If you have the old part compare them side by side, see if they are the same lenght....if not I would say you got the wrong part. Looks like it should telescope, try some wd40 or try Quadratec customer service 800-745-6037

I doused it in WD40, even heated it up in the oven! and nothing... this so very very frustrating. How could they make a part this difficult to install?
