Intermittent No Start Issue
Hello gentleman! My problem today is as follows: I haven't driven the car in about a week. I hop in and go to start it and it cranks and cranks but doesn't start. The fuel pump is priming and fuel is getting through the rail so I'm assuming it's spark now. I look around the engine bay and see nothing that's wet or out of the originate (it's been raining in NJ for a few days now). I shut the hood and go back in to start it and "VOILA!" It starts. I drive around all night with no issues starting and stopping the engine a few times when I stop at the store. No problems. I go to start the car this morning and the same thing happens; crank crank crank no start. My first thought is to check the coils but would they all go bad at once? With no misifiring before? Alternator is new and so is the battery. I read maybe the crank sensor could be bad? Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thank you group

So... that shouldn't have been your first thought.
Yes, it could be the crank sensor, or other things. You say you ASSUME it has spark, but have you verified that?
You say it must have fuel, but have you tested fuel pressure?
Think, test, then replace parts.

I have tested fuel pressure and it is good. Have not checked for spark yet but I did try to start it with some starting fluid and that didn't work either. At work now but will update later when I get to testing things. Thank you

Same thing happened to me. Crankshaft position sensor. Don't get parts store cps if you want it to fit perfectly. They are about 2 inches short.
You're gonna need 11mm socket, 1/4" drive, wobble extension (must have, I made a universal joint work with a little tape to keep it from flopping around only because I couldn't find a wobble), 2 6" inch extensions plus maybe a 3" extension, and a friend would be nice.
