ISO - Center Cap Screw Retainers
I have been looking all over the web in search of those little metal retainers that fit over the plastic mounts on the backside of the black center caps for my 96 Cherokee. I ordered some used center caps online and the arrived without these little retainers.
Does anyone have the part #'s for them?
Thanks

They usually end up stuck on the wheels on the screw. Check your wheels, they may be there. My caps are long gone but those metal things are still on most of my wheels.

I have those caps, some of which were ordered online and they didn't come with any fastening hardware. Aren't they held onto the wheel with screws?
I guessing that I know what "retainers" you are talking about and they should be available at any good hardware store.

the retainers look like little metal cups with holes in the center for the sheet metal screw. They sit on top of the plastic bosses that are molded into the back of the cap. I could probably just screw into the plastic, but would rather have the retainer.
Anyone have a part number?
thanks

Learn something every day. I looked at a couple of spare caps and there they are (some missing) although I wouldn't have known what to call them. As you already know, the "retainers" are what the screw threads into and without them or the equivalent, you would need a pretty good sized diameter screw to go into the hole and bite into the plastic.
If I couldn't find some replacements, I would probably glue a dowel plug into each cavity and screw into that.

Center cap screws
I know this is an old thread but hopefully it will help somebody. I've been trying to source these same screws for the same wheels myself and it's been difficult. Best I could find was some that were 32mm long and cut them down to 11mm.
This attached snip is from the OE parts manual.
