Jam Nut not threading onto Tie Rod
Hey there CF, in a bit of a JAM. I took the jam nut off of my tie rod on the passenger side to get access to suspension parts. Tried to put the jam nut on after I am done doing a lift, and it wont thread on. Just gets stuck about one thread in. The original nut looked pretty rusty, so I ordered a new one to be safe. That one wont thread on either. If I try to force it, the stud just rotates... what!? This is the last thing I need to do in order to get rolling. So kinda frustrated.
Any Ideas?

You cleaned all the threads, make sure there's no corrosion stopping the nut. Maybe run a flat headed screwdriver along the threads to ensure its all clean. Was there any resistance when you took the nut off. Are the the original installer of the Tie rid

FYI Why not just upgrade to a new HD TRE's ones from a mid 90's GC V-8 direct bolt-in and much stronger all steel and larger tie rods plus no more rolled steel tre's. The whole thing under a $100 at AutoZone for their name brand top od the line really (Moog).
