Default Japanese xj

I have a 95 xj right hND drive and it hard to find new parts. Can anyone lead me in the right direction to a place or site that deals with Japanese models?

What an interesting question. I would assume they are the same as RHD models found in other countries. But having the origin of manufacture would help greatly. Because they were manufactured in quite a few countries around the world even china. But they were imported into Japan from somewhere else. You could go to the official Chrysler website and request a build sheet for your VIN number and it would give you this information. From there we might be able to point you the right direction with better certainty.

The instant build generator MIGHT work for your year, too…
Hopefully this link works
Enter the VIN in the small field marked "VIN" (not the search). If it's current enough, it might spit out a PDF of your build sheet.

Also, where you're located would help narrow down vendors— I do know RockAuto stocks some RHD-specific parts, even if you're stateside.

Just Google "Japanese models" and I'm sure you will get something interesting. Just kidding, just kidding...

What parts are you looking for that you can't find? I would think most parts are the same except the steering.

All RHD models aren't Japanese. Where are you?

Ah, So!
Yeah but that's the USG mailman who could have an exemption. They need to have rhd to stuff the mail in boxes as they drive along. Im talking regular drivers

I think it's more to do with import laws than where the steering wheel sits. I've seen a fair few rhd vehicles, converted or original postal vehicles mostly. It's more to do with bureaucratic bs and legalities.

Assuming it's not a RHD USDM Jeep (i.e. doesn't have a US VIN)

(At least) 25 years from date of import cuts the complexity to a degree, but if it's not a usdm right-hander, they're still gonna have to do a crap ton of extra paperwork to register it in the US, even if it's a Jeep. Based on what it takes for other makes of JDM cars to do get legal here, I'd pay somebody who does it for a living.

If it's a usdm jeep with a usdm VIN they shouldn't have issues with their DMV. It'd just be an adjustment, if they weren't already accustomed to rhd driving.
