okay thanks for the tips. And by the way , my transmission is a ax-15 the owner before me swapped ot. But it was mudded a lot and they dogged it out pretty bad so i've been fixing all there screw ups pretty much. Transmission fluid is good and full. I thought hopefully it would be either the clutch, pressure plates, slave cylinder, or the release bearing, taking it to the transmission shop tomorrow.

Well based on what you just said... the transmission is full of what? Mud and water? lol

If you're taking a Jeep with an AX-15 to a shop beware that they will probably use the wrong fluid. Chrysler had a misprint in the FSM for the AX-15 stating API GL-5 lube is appropriate - it's not. Although if your synchros are already dead it won't really matter (extra sulphur destroys them). They later superseded the part number for the appropriate lube with 10W30 motor oil once warranty pretty much ran out. Insist on a real oil for manual transmissions with brass synchros like Pennzoil Synchromesh (cheap) or a Royal Purple or Redline product.

To add to the pile, +1 your clutch could be not releasing properly, or it could be a synchro problem. There is a very simple way to tell: try shifting with the vehicle at a standstill. If you get grinding with the clutch pedal all the way down and the vehicle stopped, the clutch isn't letting go all the way. Fluid flush may take care of this. If the problem is worn synchros, the transmission will shift the same at a standstill regardless of whether the engine is running. With badly worn synchros at a stop you might have to jam it into a gear but you'd be able to pop it in and out with no issues.

I have worn synchros and I just learned to double-clutch.
