jeep engine head installation issues

I installed a new head gasket and changed the lifter and after installing the head and connecting all wires I started the engine for the first time and it immediately idle to full RPM and i switched of the engine and tried to find out any issues but was not able to find any issue. Please guys if anybody went through this and find the issues then please update me and thanks

Check all your vacuum lines.

Check that the intake is seated all the way this comes up periodically always seems to be the case .

Oh yes, now that you mention it! It's not uncommon to install the intake manifold so that it's sitting ON TOP of one of the locator dowels instead of being tight on the head.
