Default Jeep idling high, help!

Cranked my 1998 xj this morning, and it was idling high.

When first cranked it was pushing 2000 rpm. After it warmed up, it is idling a 1500 rpm in park, and when it is in gear, it idles at 1000 rpm. The only thing I've done to it recently is I had new exhaust put on Dec. 23 (flowmaster series 40).

Any help would definitely be appreciated. The jeep has 95000 miles on it. Only mods are the exhaust and a 3 inch lift.

Thanks

Sounds like you may have a vacuum leak. Check all your vacuum lines first.

A vacuum leak is certainly suspect.

As well as a sticky idle air control (located on throttle body)

1. Search for vacuum leak

2. If nothing with #1, clean the idle air control and throttle body.

He said it idles lower after it warms up so im not sure of a bad iac. Possibly the step counter in the iac is bad causing the computer to think it is fully seated when its not.
