One other thing, disconnect the battery and then disconnect the distribution box and flip it over, I have seen a lot of these where the connections to the relays and fuses were so badly corroded that they caused multiple problems, many similar to yours.

well thanks guys i am not really driving it right now i live right around the corner from work and i will be going through the wires and everything to see what is what and i was going to clean up everything important. my gf's brakes are bad on her explorer so i have to do those tonight. but in the next week or so i will be getting out there and messing with it and seeing what happened but the fuel pump and alt are still getting replaced no matter what
