While I was driving to work I was sitting in traffic and everything just shut off I got it home and found out that my red ignition switch wire isn't getting any power anyone have any ideas I just want the jeep back it's a 87 jeep cherokee Laredo.

There is a diagram in my sig showing your start relay there near the battery. One big post has a bunch of wires coming off of it. (fuseble links). At least one of those is providing power to the switch. Maybe check/clean the connections to the post on the relay. Also feel those wires and see if one feels wrong. The wire could fry inside the insulation. (this would be because there is a short).

There is lots else, but that's an easy place to start.

Okay so I went and checked the hot wire for the ignition and found out its only getting like half the power at the ignition switch thanks for the reply and have any idea why it would run rich after I changed the grounds? Almost smells like 2 stoke
