You ever drive a car with no shocks? My buddy says you can do it, because he has, but when you hit a bump the car won't stop bouncing. He said it is pretty funny.
We had some high winds Friday here. I drive a company owned Prius for the auto parts store. Think it might be one of the reasons I own a Jeep. To maintain some dignity. LOL. Anyway I go to the warehouse twice a day. 60 mile round trip and mostly highway. With the suspension being shot, we put some serious weight in that thing from time to time (well serious weight for a Prius), I was getting tossed around out there like a rag doll.

Good you have tight parts up front.
For stability, insure your front tires are Toe In, about 1/16 - 1/8 inch is just right.
Toe out conditions will give you a "darty" steering.
