Yeah, "running like crap" is a pretty broad statement. Impossible to diagnose a vehicle over the 'net with only that info! With no other clues given, I'd say to start with a fuel pressure test.

When was the last time you did a tune up? When you go trailing does it involve mud and water? If so have you ever refreshed your grounds clean out your let electrical connectors? How many miles are on your jeep Reply to these questions please...

Some good advice already given here. Here is how I would approach it.
1. Never underestimate the importance of fresh tuneup parts. Champion copper plugs gapped to .035, new quality plug wires, distributor cap, rotor and fuel filter.
2. Seen any check engine light? If so, you must pull codes for guidance. How to do this shown below
3. Freshening all engine grounds is never a bad idea.
4. Fuel pressure. For a 91 you should have 31 psi at idle. Then disconnect the vacuum line leading to the fuel pressure regulator and the pressure should jump to approximately 39 psi. If that vacuum line is wet with fuel, you have a ruptured diaphragm on the fuel pressure regulator

Retrieving codes onOBD1 Models: 1991-1995
1) Start engine (if possible). Move transmission shift lever
through all positions, ending in Park. Turn A/C switch on and then off
(if equipped).
2) Turn engine off. Without starting engine again, turn
ignition on, off, on, off and on within 5 seconds. Record 2-digit
fault codes as displayed by flashing MIL.
3) For example, fault code 23 is displayed as flash, flash,
4-second pause, flash, flash, flash. After a slightly longer pause,
other codes stored are displayed in numerical order. When MIL begins
to flash fault codes, it cannot be stopped. Start over if count is
lost.
NOTE: A "5-5" will always occur to signal the end of the sequence. Some will flash the "1-2" code indicating a recent battery disconnect even if you haven't done it. Ignore these two codes, and mark down all others.
