Default Jeep Stops Running

I've had two instances: 1) when I came to a stop sign and 2) when I pulled into a driveway. Each time the engine just stopped. I turned the jeep completely off and started it back up with no issues. Today it wanted to do it again but I accelerated so it wouldn't. Why would it do this? I've had it running when I was in park and the engine stopped too. Should I clean the sensor's on the throttle body?

1. Always post the year of your XJ. There are significant differences through the years which will affect the advice you are given.
2. Is your check engine light on or have you seen it on? Even if the answer is no, check for codes or pending codes with a code reader or a scan tool (if year appropriate, 91 and up) which may provide a roadmap as to where to look and test further.
3. Never hurts to test fuel pressure. Must be done with a gauge which can often be rented inexpensively from parts stores, call around for availability. Fuel pressure spec varies, another reason we need the year of your XJ.
4. Cleaning the throttle body and idle air control is never a bad idea just as a matter of good solid maintenance.
5. Tune up parts fresh? (plugs, plug wires, distributor cap, rotor).

The P0705 is for the NSS. Most places say P1694 is the crank sensor.

Remove and clean your grounds first. Bad grounds alone can throw codes because the BUS needs good clean grounds to communicate properly between modules. The BUS is a communications network.
