Jeep tranny swap
ok i am fixen my 1995 jeep cherokee sport with a bad tranny and i got a good deal on a 1991 jeep cherokee for 400 bucks....but the 1991 has a button that said power and comfert with a pic of a tranny on it....will this tranny work on my jeep..wasnt sure cuz of this button maybe it is a electronic based? i am not sure anyone got any idea

91's are 23 spline in my experience.
the power/comfort is a selection for the trans computer. 92 and up and some 91's are hard wired for power. has nothing to do with the trans itself, or even the trans harness or nss harness. so yes, they are compatible.
HOWEVER. before you put the transmission up, I'd suggest removing your flexplate, and attempting to bolt it up to the "new" transmission's torque converter. they changed the torque converter bolt pattern at some point in time, so you *may* have to redrill the pattern properly (make sure it's balanced/45 degrees off from the old holes), or buy a new torque converter for your year.
before you ask the question...NO, you can not swap torque converters between transmissions, especially when of said transmissions is known to be bad. the contaminants in every transmission are different, and swapping around used torque converters is just begging to make you have to do twice as much work.
