Default Jusgot a new AW4 Transmission

I just received a transmission from quadratec and it had a little hole on the bottom of piece that holds the output shaft it looks like it needs a plug or something...what do you think it is?

New AW4 from Quadratec , I think what's missing is about $1300 dollars more from your wallet than should need be missing from your wallet .

Did you ask Q-Tech? Get an email address from customer service so they can fwd these pics to the rebuilder directly.

If it's a set screw or something they may have forgotten some solicone etc.. they might just have you clean and cover over it. But i'd contact them and ask.. get it on file for a future warranty issue as well. Save the emails..

BTW... thats only an adapter housing for a 4wd trans.. nothing in there to damage other than leaking fluid.

So he bought a NEW AW4. Its all new parts including the torque converter, so what is your problem with that?

I bought a used aw4 for my 99 it had 50k on it was like new , and had...no leaks ...cost $ $150.00 . It includes the TC ...that's like a $100.00 item I know I got one collecting dust in the garage .

if you have fluid leaking out of that hole you either have an output seal on the transmission or an input seal on the transfercase leaking

Yeah thats what im doing now, just trying to see if anyone knows what that hole is

A breather, does it leak with the drive shaft in? if so the seal is bad

I haven't installed it yet...you think it will stop when i install the transfer case?

Once the t-case is installed the leak will stop. That hole is there to let you know the transmission output shaft seal is leaking.
