Just after new head gasket
Continuous p3001 code . It has all new plugs . What could make this happen ? I know a ground is loose could this be it ?

Always post the YEAR of your XJ. There are significant differences through the years.
Fix your ground, but that is not likely the cause here.
A compression test is never a bad idea if you have ruled out plugs (and wires/cap/rotor, coil connection etc. depending on year).

Yes after hearing that its a cylinder 1 misfire, I have a lot of experience with this. I also have older threads besides the one I revived the other day I will find.

Okay , sorry about the late of this . But I assume because I drove a good distance on few cylinders not great but was my only option. And a little more Info the code only happens about every day or so if its reset .
