Darn difficult to help when the terms used to describe the parts aren't correct. Good pics would help alot at this point...and not cellphone pics either.

If it was me I'd hit up a JY for a replacement unless you are planning a regear then get the gears and rebuild kit and get it done.

The pinion bearings are toast. Pull the covr and you'll probably see a ruined ring and pinion as well.

no problem found, let it ride..........looks like the pinion bearing exploded

water deff got in i submarined my xj the other day...i pulled the axels and drive shaft so now its running 2wd
