I've been looking for a good lift kit (2-3"), but for a complete suspension replacement, including anti-sway bars, bushing, leaf springs, etc. The real reason is that those are the only things going wrong on my rig. I wouldn't mind the lift, but this is also a big maintenance issue for my otherwise stock ride.
My other concern, of course, is road ride quality. The shocks are old and the spring leaves sag like your grandma's. I'm willing to buy someone's gently used setup if they're willing to help me get it put in.

Does anyone have the answer to my question? What would be the best coils fo me? Rough country, rustys, or ome? I would like the rough country ones to work out b they are included in the kit from iron rock off road I am looking at! But I don't want a super bad ride like some people say they have! But if they really aren't that bad compared to rustys or ome. I will be getting upgraded shocks like monroes or somethng. So maybe with those the rough country coils won't be that bad??

Here is the thing - Coils are coils. your ride quality will come from the shocks you put under your XJ. A lift kit will increase your drive angle and angle of attack for your control arms - end result is stiffer, bumpier ride. 3 inch lift from any manufacture is a 3 inch lift. it is all going to be wheelers opinions at this point. You want a smoother ride? Invest in nicer shocks and/or save up the mulah for a long arm kit. The wait is worth it.

those should be pretty good for a 3". RC is a good lift, but it lives up to it's name. Rusty's is about the same price and a better on road ride IMO. Both are great lifts and can take a lot of abuse. I went Rusty's and I've got friends who went RC and we both get in and out of the same places on the trails. a 3" will clear 31's without any trimming and you can keep the stock flares as well. It'd be good to find some rims with 4" back spacing though so you don't rub your LCA's at full lock.
