who knows what your friends could have tweaked as they wrestled with the oil filter.
check all your electrical connections.
next time, take one of your other 3 vehicles and go to your local parts store, they have caps that fit over the end of oil filters and accept a 1/4" drive ratchet... makes things real easy.
it should be pretty obvious where the plug wires fit onto the cap, they ought to nearly "fall into place".
If not, while at the local parts store pick up a haynes or Chilton manual, they will have diagrams of firing order and where your plug wires need fall on the dizzy cap.
I'm also curious if the old oil filter seal was left in place.

The first thing i would do is get the spark plug wires back on in there right spots and then go for a drive to see how it run and drives.
Here's a link that shows what wire should go where on the cap and should help you alot, the pic is at the bottom of the page.

As for the oil i would really just leave it until next oil change then switch to the different type of fluid.
Once that done then look for a broken wire around the oil sensor.

I would deff look at the wire harness. Did u say 1 quart??? I hope you put more then 1 quart... A I6 4.0 needs 6 quarts or you will damage your jeep really bad from lack of oil. Deff check the whole firing system and make sure you have 6 quarts of oil.
As for the high milage oil goes some people prefer regular oil, some prefer synthetic. I would use high milage with anything over 70,000 miles. You said like 350,000??? I would go high milage, full synthetic, and LUCAS oil treatment JMO
