I bought my XJ with 141k and I believe everything was OE. I did a full radiator flush and fill, tranny oil drain and fill/filter (what a PITA), replaced the valve cover seal and oil filter adaptor O-ring fixed my leak. Diff fluids will be next on my list! Aside from that maybe a seafoam cleaning and wait for something to go awry and have to be swapped out!! 😂 good luck with your new XJ!!

Some other mods ive done include new swaybar links and swaybar bushings from MOOG, RC steering stabilizer, (these two really improved the overall handling) new trunk bumpstops to fix the rattle while in gear with brake applied.

Those are good things to do. You could also throw in some plugs, check the belts and hoses for wear or cracking, air cleaner. Good visual inspection underneath of the steering and suspension, driveline parts. Look for excessive rust or play/movement in drive shafts, u joints. Agree with one other comment above, don't look for trouble...it will find you soon enough.

The little bumpers on both sides of hatch.
Hood has something similar on the sides.
