If you have the junkyard hubs on it now, that may be the problem.
You could swap the hubs and the rotors from your old D30 and see
if that improves things.

Just an update for those interested; I took it to the man this morning and he couldn't find anything blatantly wrong with it. He did think that the rear u-joint on the front driveshaft could be sticking however. His thoughts are that it is that joint or the driver's side u-joint and that I should take the front driveshaft out and see if anything changes.
I'll go from there and see what happens.
Edit: I forgot to say, when the mechanic had it on the lift he shifted in to 4x4 and the front passenger side always seemed to stop turning much easier/quicker than the other wheels. Is this because the friction on the long shaft is greater? Or should I look in to that?

Some people have always had low opinions of the Dana 30, but those are the same people who hate Fram filters and Bosch O2 sensors.
However, I think it's the other way around. MOST 2000 XJs (and all 2001s) have low pinion D30.

I compared my old axle and new axle and they are visually identical. I figured the yoke would sit lower on the LP than the HP. Is this correct thinking? Or is there another way of telling the difference?

Both sides are brand new hubs and rotors. I've known hubs that were bad out of the box, but both of mine seem to be in great shape.

Brake pads could be dragging. Make sure caliper isn't stuck and the pad seats on the knuckle are not gouged.
