the rod should work some times you need to use a pair of channel locks to squeez it on in the years ive installed ive never had one that didnt fit as for the light flash if you have the right wire most alarms have a jumper on it for positive and negative lights if its hooked up right and not working try changing that jumper over it will be on the alarm brain it self
as for the12volt.com that site is not always correct because the information is not always submited by installers any one that signs up can submit stuff if you need a wiring diagram send me a pm and i have a directechs account which all the info on there is submitted by the cars manufacture
a hint if you dont have a car battery handy to check aftermarket door lock accuators and to adjust them you can use the battery off your drill if its 12-18volts if you flip the wires it will lock or unlock depending on which is negative and which is positive
also the alarms at autozone are junk you can get an alarm made by DEI online for that price maybe less if you get DEI's lower end called avital they are cheap and alot more reliable then bulldog

I have the factory keyless entry and i'm trying to install a Viper alarm with keyless entry. The alarm is complete, but I'm having no luck with the keyless entry. I've trying wiring it from the driver's kick panel and passenger, with no prevail. I need some help here guys. Has anyone done this?
