Kill switch install in '87 xj?
So, once again, I can't shut off my jeep. My ignition switch actuator rod is jammed, and the teeth are stripped, so I only have "start" and "run" positions functioning. I currently shut it off by pulling the coil wire and disconnecting the battery. How can I wire up a kill swich so I can shut off my jeep without disconnecting everything?

Just pulling the second relay of that row of 4 will kill the fuel. Probably though I'd pull the bat cable also since stuff is still on.
The starter relay is up near the battery. The big stud has about 5 wires fanning off of it, fusible links. (the Idea there is one of those can blow before you have a fire). Anyway at least one of those, maybe a red one is powering the ign switch.
I suppose in a jamb I might consider putting a kill switch there.
Here's a link to the inner secrets of the column. A steering wheel puller is free to rent....I ended up buying a pivot pin puller. $9)

My ignition switch just started working again... so we'll see what happens. I've pulled my steering wheel off and had the column loose, but not removed. That's how I found out the problem. I guess I will have to dig deeper to find the issue if the problem returns

I happened to see an 84 at a yard sale today with "issues"
Somebody solved it by smashing the right spot, (low left) on the column, so they could get a vice grip on the rod. Pretty creative!

Just pull the hose to the MAP sensor. That should kill the engine. Or the fuel pump relay or CPS connection. Man, it's hard to keep these running most of the time.
