The green "led" will not come on unless you run 12 v down the violet wire and have the black grounded. The fog light background light will not come on until you send 12 v ...preferably from headlight switch into the orange wire. Could you reconfirm what ASD wires you spliced into

I spliced the switch's violet and lt blue wires into the ASD blue/white ground wire.

If you ground the black wire for the test, the green led should come on with the switch on, once the key switch is set to on...or once the engine is running. The blue/white ASD wire is coil power so there should be 12 v there.
