I have a 98 cherokee classic. Lately there has been a loud rattling knocking sound whenever i start it and then it goes away when i drive it and when i shut it off its back but even louder. it sounds like its coming from the oil pan area, but I'm not to sure. Any help?

 

I'd start by checking the flexplate bolts. There's an inspection cover bottom front of the bellhousing.
