Default Largest Tire on a Stock Suspension

I was hoping if anyone knew what is the largest tire I can put on my 98 cherokee sport with its stock suspension? I'm trying to get some new tires and I was hoping to upgrade in size, but I don't know how big I can go without starting to rub. If anyone knows I would appreciate the info.

235's look good lol. you could probly throw a 30 at it, a 235 is pretty close anyhow. if you wanted you could try a 31 and if it doesnt fit you could trim the fender. but 30 should fit good. fairly cheep too. or go to 4wd.com and you can find a 2 in lift got about 150 bucks and fit 31's

I run 235/75/15's on mine with no problems. I would go with a 2 inch lift as CKY says if you want bigger.

235's are stock size. atleast they were on mine. an like i posted previously a 30 9.50 r15 would fit good a little bigger than what you have now, less flex room with no lift and still having the fenders uncut.

Alright thanks that really helps. Im assuming that if I go with the 30 x 9.5s that this is also the widest I can fit in?

The largest stock size I was aware of was 225? I got 235's on mine and they fit fine(before my lift), 30's would be ok I think as long as your leafs aren't sagging. I did throw a 2" lift in but I haven't put bigger tires on. Yet...

225 is the largest stock tire,235s or 30x9.50s are the largest you can get on one stock with no rubbing or trimming issues

Yes, 225 is the stock size as per the data sticker on mine. However, mine came with 235's from PO and they ride nice.

235's were stock on some models.

30's will fit no problem
31's will fit if you like rubbing
33's will fit if you like trimming fenders

I just pulled some 265/70/15s out from under my Cherokee today (they rubbed the LCAs) and put them under my Grand (where they also rub!) They work fine except in super sharp turns!
