I've even been tempted to wire up a pushbutton trip to turn them on for tailgaters! One of my friends did that and he said people drop back about 100 yards! And that's with normal lights!

BTW, incandescent 3157 are only about 60 lumens.
Trying to understand the difference between cool white and natural white.

Just that you seem very happy with yours and when I use somebodies idea that I like I like to do it exactly as they did. Going to see if I can figure it out.

Thanks Ralph77 for setting me straight. I didn't even notice that the side marker lights only worked either with the lights on or with them off but not together. I went to superbrightled.com and got the ones that work in both directions (go on no matter which direction you plug them in) and now all is right. I would have driven around for months before noticing that the side marker lights didn't work either with the lights on or off, depending on how I oriented them.

Wait, so you guys have no issues with led side markers + led front turn signal/running lights + led rear turn signals?

Even with a Novita ep27 flasher, mine hyperflash and the front side markers refuse to flash unless the marker lights are on.

Is it my bulbs then? I bought one set, then bought another set that specifically stated they were reversible with zero change. Mine are all reversible except the rears which are Sylvania LED (non-Zevo) and not that bright

Glad to have helped. Also glad I figured this out. I could careless about LED's to frank. This all resulted from me putting white parking lights, side markers, and taillights that don't have amber lenses on them on my black '00. I like the look. Problem was that the regular amber bulbs, especially in the parking lights, showed through and destroyed the look. Somebody suggested using LED's. I did some research and found this video.

He used the cheaper Sylvanias but made it seem cut and dry. So I did it and trying to be thorough wanted to make sure that every thing worked as it should. That is when I discovered the side marker problem. Testing with a meter and consulting my the wiring diagram in my FSM LED me to believe, see what I did there (LOL) , that there was nothing wrong with the Jeep causing this but is the way it was wired. The guy in the video never mentions this. If you notice he never does show you the front turn signals blinking. This is the reason I started this thread.

I spent almost $100 on all the LED's. Now I am betting I could have bought the appropriate LED's off Ebay much cheaper. But the goal was to use ones that I could source locally if needed immediately. And it is not the $100. But the fact that I went down this road, based on what my research seemed to indicate, and found out this was not as cut and dry as it appeared. Anybody with a computer and can post stuff. "I read it on the internet so it must be true". LOL. I try to be very careful in what I post. I have these little phrases I use. "I believe". "My research seems to indicate". Etc. Then there is the stuff that I have actually done. That stuff I feel more confident that I know what I am talking about. Last thing I want to do is give bad advice. I just thought people should know

To the best of my knowledge all my lights work as they should. Mine do not hyperflash. I used the EP27L flasher from Napa. Pretty sure I have tested them in every scenario I could think of. Turn signals blinking without headlights on. Turn signals blinking with headlights on. Brake pedal depressed with turn signals blinking without headlights on. Brake pedal depressed with turn signals blinking with headlights on. Etc. My turn signal indicators did dimly glow when I had my headlights on but that was before I put in the non polarity 194's in the side markers, to solve that one issue, and had the regular 194's in there till I figured out what to use. My turn signals do not light up when I hit my brakes as I have also read seems to be a problem. At least I am pretty sure of all this. I am still trying to find an LED bulb that I feel fits comfortably for the license plate marker light. Once I do I am going to run through the whole system again. Make sure best I can that everything works as it should. Then in my thread I am going to do a summary and list every part number with a link that I used. Hopefully closing the book on this.

I don't have a trailer hitch which means I don't have any trailer light wiring. My research seems to indicate this can cause problems. I do not have Daytime Running Lights on my '00. Which also appears could cause problems. My '00 did not come with factory fog lights but I did put some on. But while I am using a factory switch and aftermarket OEM looking fog lights they are not factory wired. I can turn them on without the key in the ignition and they will not go off when I turn on my high beams as I believe the factory set up would. And I do run the headlight harness bought from jhc7399.

IMO it is these little things that could make it that while this worked for me might not work for you. Also when I do something I am very specific in the parts that I have used. Post part numbers and links to them. I do this for a couple reasons. One people come up with some good ideas. They post about it. You want to do what they did. But they do not give you a part number. Come on people. Specifics. Inquiring minds want to know. I always felt that if you were going to steal somebodies idea that worked for them then you should do it exactly as they did. That includes using the exact same parts.

So what about the smoked, or black tinted lights, Do those fit in to your color match for the LED? Or do those react like the Clear for the most part with a bit of dimming?
