Electrical is really not that difficult when you get right down to it. Basic circuit is positive to switch to fuse to component to ground. It seems more difficult when you have 30 circuits though. You just need to learn to treat every circuit individually, and learn how to read diagrams and schematics. Diagrams and schematics are basically the map system, and once you learn how to read it, it's really not hard. A cheap multimeter will go a long way, and a Powerprobe will be a huge help too once you learn.

picked myself up a decent multi-meter the other day.... gonna learn this when I have the time to pull the harness out of the door. I've spliced many wires in my day... so I have the tools to do that right... I've just never done an entire loom section before, where I've had to test for continuity and such.

I suspect the issue will be obvious.

If it doesn't need new wire... then I'd really be up the creek... lol That would mean more expensive repairs would be required most likely.
I do believe that wires are compromised though....as when I used to have a radio in the jeep.... the driver's side door when opened/closed... could hear distortion through the speaker in that door like an electrical short of some kind.. so I know at least one wire is no longer in its original condition.
