Mount in different locations, different length. Not sure about PSI ratings.

Be sure to do both at the same time. If you replace just one it'll die prematurely due to a heavy load.

Oh, I bought out a toolbox manufacturers inventory of lift supports, I've probably got 20 or so left (probably more) and they are the wrong size thread for my 1999's lift supports as I don't have the end that the pin goes through min are all the ball socket type

They are custom made to order and then shipped from China, so admittedly they take a long time to arrive, but they are just plain great. Very high quality and an exact fit. Work wonderfully. I'm exceptionally pleased with them.

The struts on my 96 are 10mm ball and socket with the retainer pin.
PSI rating and extended length is important also. Too long and the hinges will overextend, too high of pressure and hatch will open too quickly and hit you in the chin.
1996 and earlier have a fiberglass hatch, 97+ uses steel. Not sure what the weight difference is.

Say what you will. I purchased them after reading many positive reviews and now myself, first hand, can tell you they are quality products.

btw, I've been to China. I've seen some of their manufacturing facilities in Xian and Beijing and Tianjin. It's not what most folks here in the states expect. I was blown away by some of their facilities, QC processes, etc. Of course you can buy cheap garbage products as well, but not everything from China is crap these days.

That is super cool-There should be a category on this forum for neat mods! I like the floor storage too.
