Hello jeeps. I'm new to this forum and the Cherokees. I've owned and worked on a few Wrangler TJ's and currently have an 04 Rubicon with 4" lift, 33" tires, lockers, etc. And do pretty much all the work myself. But I'm not here for that, I'm here to chase the electric issues I've found with a 1998 ZJ, 4.0, 190k miles that I purchased for my 16 YO son, so here goes.

OK, I found and fixed my dome lights staying on issue. Now can anyone point me in a direction for why is it that:

1) If I turn my brights on the bright light indicator stays on even if you go back to dims? The lights do dim as they should the bright light indicator just does not go off, which as a second issue causes the fog lights not to turn back on. The only way to fix is shut lights off for a second and turn back on.
2) If I set lights to Auto the head lights will not turn on. All the other lights turn on and even the Fogs will come on if they are on, on the switch. Are these issues related?

Welcome to the forum. But you should post this in the GC section. This is the XJ section and most here know more about the XJ then th GC.

I would look to see if that year used a body control module, also check any associated relays . That's my best guess I dont have a wiring diagram for the ZJ
