Default Lighting basics

Im on the look out for new brighter headlights. Mine are extremely dim. Cars from behind me light the road ahead of me better then my lights can.

Now my question is, what routes are there that i can go and what parts i'll need.

I did a quick search and i only came up with this write up. But i dont think i want to go HID route.

and can someone enlighten me on what all these IPF H4 and other mumble jumble ancronyms mean??

Thanks

Are you looking to just plug something in and go or are you willing/able to take the time to d some work to set it up the best you can?

The smartest choice would be to start by upgrading your wire harness to them. after that you may be happy with good off the shelf replacement lights or you would be ready to throw some flame thrower grade lights in...

There are several threads out here about harness upgrades. I'm headed to the garage so I don't have much time, try this one for starters...

OK so i plan on doing the harness upgrade in the link. Now what will i have to do for the headlight assembly? discounting the harness. Do i use the one i have now or get a new set with better bulbs?

Here are the lights i got off ebay i was told by another person on the forum they were good lights not the junk plastic ones and that they are. They have a nice glass lens with a metal housing and they have H4 bulbs so you don't have to replace the housing anymore just the bulb. I got the Euro completely clear lens. they are Autopal. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/79-01...Q5fAccessories

Figured id chime in, the link 00xj threw up is a good one. Them are the casings im running, theyre great, no complaints and the dude is a pleasure to deal with on ebay. The lights that came with it were better than stock, again casings are worth it. As far as the harness goes, go into the write up section and find the hd harness writeup. Its ordered through lmc for 40 something out the door. I ordered one but have not gotten it in yet (waiting on bulbs and stuff to come in), comes with relays too. All plug and play stuff for about 80$(total harness and casings with bulbs). With the casings and harness you can run 90/100 watt bulbs max i do believe.....
