Limited Slip Axle Hum?

Limited Slip Axle Hum?
Hey, I got a stock 98 with a limited slip Dana 35 in the back. I seem to hear a slight hum when I hit the gas only, pinion seems tight and I did the axle bearings and seals already. Fluid looks clean and I always put the slip additive in it. Do the limited slip lockers just make noise in general?

No... You shouldn't have any hum or vibrations out of a stock LS differential... Could be any of a few different things including carrier bearings, gear mesh, worn axle shafts, etc...

any ideas on what I should do about it? It’s not too loud just yet, I drive it daily. I have a 8.25 laying around.

You didn't mention mileage..But If it's not too bad I'd just keep motoring along knowing you've got another {better} rear axle ready for the swap... You could spend a bunch of time chasing down a rear humming issue... Something to think about.. Driveshaft universals will start to hum when there going out and are easy enough to check... You might want to go over them to eliminate that ...PS: put your vehicle info in your profile so everyone can see what you've got for future reference..Thanks..
