hes sayin to take the intake off, drop the oil pan (after draining oil) and air dry everything, then use an air compressor and nozzle to blow all the water out of the cylinders, and make sure there is no water in your air box, check your distributer to make sure it is dry, put some oil in the cylinders, replace the oil pan and intake, replace your oil filter while your at it, fill her back up with oil, then I would turn it over without the spark plugs a couple times to make extra sure there is no water, then with a small amount of oil still inside the spark plug hole (not too much, you dont want to foul your plugs) replace the spark plugs and try to start it, and see if it starts, i think thats just about the safest way to go about it, short of pulling the engine.....

Just use compressed air in the cylinders and change the oil.... Put the plugs back in and fire it up... Been there and done that....

People... youre making way too much of a deal out of it.
Pull the plugs, get in, turn the key. Not that hard to do. Let it turn over for a few seconds, see if the cylinders are dry. If not, do it again.

Once you get the water out of the cylinders, CHANGE YOUR OIL.
Check distributor for water (if you have one), if theres water, dry it out.
put plugs back in, start jeep. See if you screwed anything up. If you did, it will most likely make some wonderful noises.

soak everything down with wd40 and it should be fine i have done that many times its not that hard

thats where the water got sucked in. wipe it out and squert some WD40 in there to get rid of the rest of the water

Have you gotten this figured out yet? Because If you havent, just do what a few other people have been saying. Pull all the plugs, turn the key like you are starting it. do that for a few seconds. You will start to smell fuel eventually, thats normal. Then change the oil. Then check all the other fluids. all the petroleum based fluids will seem milky. after that fire it up. If everything seems okay, let it idle for a while so it gets good and hot.

suck out the intake with a vacuum to get out as much water as you can, then do what I mentioned earlier..

i just cleaned out plugs with my neighbors air compressor. put some wd40 in plugs and some in intake. intake had some murky water but now its getting better. i wanna take my time and make sure its all good before i start her.

im about to go get oil and new filter and then empty it and drop tray and the dry it then filler her up and put plugs in and hopes she runs!!!!!!!!

everyone is just scaring you its not that big of a deal.

1pull intake tube and clean out all the water

2 pull plugs turn it over tell no more water shots out.

3change oil

4start it let it get up to temp

5 see if oil look good, if its brown change the oil agin
do this tell the oil looks good.



ive sucked up water twice motor still runs great.


and cheack all your other fluids for water

I agree with Defiance665, you people are making this into WAY too much work. I did the same thing a few months back so I actually have experienece with this. Here's what I did...

Remove spark plugs
Crank engine until no more water comes out of spark plug holes
Put plugs back in
Start engine and drive home
drain oil/water mix
Fill with super cheap oil or even automatic trans fluid
Run for 15 minutes
Drain oil and refill with good oil
Problem solved.

Now some may say that if you drive with a little water in the oil you will strat a chain reaction that will lead to nuclear fision and destroy the world. In reality it won't do anything if your not too far away. I was 25 miles from home when I did it. It no different then having a blown head gasket and getting coolent in the oil and people have driven around like that for months before noticing it. The reason for the two oil changes is to make sure you get all of the water out. After I did the second change and I let it run for I while I checked the oil and I have never seen it so clean. You may also experience idle problems after you get it back running, I did. The water killed the TPS sensor and the IAC valve. That seems to be pretty common when this sort of thing happens. You have a 50/50 shot on wheather or not you damaged the engine. Good luck!

also check you sensors on your throttle body, when it happened to me...it blew out my MAP sensor

emptied out oil. gonna let it sit over night with the oil plug out and same for spark plugs. should they be alright? morning dew?? i sprayed the spark plug holes with wd40 and intake value as well.

Yes she runs again!!!! Thank all of you!! the compressed air really helped, cleared out the plugs. and wd40 seemed to help with the sparks and intake value. thanks everyone for your input! JEEPERS ARE THE BEST!!
