yeah, 27-spline, but there are the super 30 upgrade kits. it has the 30-spline shafts that replace the stock ones, but then you have to hunt down a locker to work for that if you don't get a kit that comes with one for the 30-spline. they are kinda pricey, but some people think they are worth it. usage of the application i guess.

Absolutely worth their weight in gold.
Single best thing I've done to my Jeep for offroad purpose.
Lock Right in front and Auburn LS out back and I can tell you traction is totally different with all 4 tires spinning instead of 2.
Even the LS in the 8.25 stays pretty well locked at all times. Only seen it not spin when I was severely twisted up and a lot of weight was on one tire. Which probably was a good thing.

it's actually DetoursUSA.com. just looked that up, i like the sound of that plate as well. the piece is called the Backbone Bumper System, and is completely bolt-on. awesome looking unit!

yea i dont plan on extreme wheeling just for snow traction, hunting and camping trips and towing. so i dont think ill need more than the 27 spline..now i see most guys upgrade the axles shafts as well when going to a locker is this necessary?

not really, unless you plan on running much larger tires or had quite a few extra ponies pumping out the engine. even then replacing the u-joints to a upgraded joint increases the strength of the axles quite a bit, and defiantly don't cost as much as buying replacement shafts.

sounds like i should be fine 30"-31" tops..depends if i feel cut off happy when i go to look for tires...but ill be waiting a bit think im gonna splurge on the rear locker and go No-Slip..worth the extra pennies you think?i like the no ratchet idea.
